In the Midst of all the Grasses
In the Midst of all the Grasses

Oil on canvas 60x50cms unframed. This is a view of part of our field. The trees are a mixture of native types although in the background is the indication of the twin trunks of the Sequoia [Giant Redwood] which was planted about 15yrs ago. The little copse attracts all sorts of wildlife and the grasses grow as they like. There is just a small clearing in the middle which was awash with cow parsley this year. I very much enjoyed painting it Alla Prima [all in one go], as it kept the palette to a minimum for mixing all the greens.
